Two months after relocating its Head Office to Bokova, Buea-Cameroon, Voice of Nature (VoNat) has strengthened its relationship with its host community through a courtesy visit to the traditional leadership of Bokova. The visit was made to His Royal Majesty, Chief Barrister Nyoki Evanjoh Abel, the traditional leader of the Bokova community in Buea, Cameroon. VoNat was represented by its Executive Director, Mr. Ndimuh Bertrand Shancho, alongside the Ecosystem Restoration Program Assistant, Ms. Delphine Munyar.
The engagement served to formally introduce VoNat’s leadership presence in the community following its relocation, foster goodwill and collaboration, and officially congratulate the Chief on his designation as the new traditional leader of Bokova.

During the visit, discussions focused on strengthening communityโconservation partnerships and reinforcing mutual cooperation between VoNat and the Bokova community in advancing environmental stewardship, ecosystem restoration, and sustainable development.
In a significant show of support, His Royal Majesty gave his royal blessings to VoNat and pledged his full support, alongside that of the Bokova community, to the organization’s mission and activities within the area. The gesture reaffirmed strong local ownership and readiness to collaborate in conservation and community development efforts.
The courtesy visit reflects VoNat’s broader approach of embedding conservation within local communities by building trust, respect, and long-term partnerships with traditional authorities and local stakeholders. Such relationships remain essential for the success of ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, and climate resilience initiatives.
VoNat reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with host communities as it continues to implement its mission of building a greener, safer, and more sustainable planet where people and wildlife thrive together.
