Voice of Nature (VoNat) is the latest partner of the Amphibian Survival Alliance (ASA) in Africa, and the lone official partner in Cameroon. ASA is a global network of partners committed to a sustainable future for amphibians. ASA’s Director of Partnership, Natalie Calatayud, officially welcomed VoNat into the network on February 10, 2025.

“It is my pleasure to formally welcome Voice of Nature (VoNat) to the Amphibian Survival Alliance (ASA). Your acceptance by the ASA Global Council underscores the significance of VoNat’s contributions to amphibian conservation, particularly in Cameroon. As an official ASA partner, your organization’s work will strengthen our collective ability to address critical conservation challenges. We are excited to have VoNat as part of the ASA network and look forward to working together to advance amphibian conservation,” an email from Natalie to VoNat reads in parts.
This partnership gives credence to VoNat’s contributions to amphibian conservation in Cameroon. It is also a great opportunity for the organization to leverage the resources, and collaboration opportunities within this global network to advance amphibians conservation in Cameroon and beyond.

VoNat has since 2021 been engaged in taking frontline actions to deter endangered amphibians depletion in Cameroon, with the world’s largest frog, the goliath frog (Conraua goliath) as its flagship species. With the support of National Geographic Society, British Ecological Society and Voice for Nature Foundation, the organization mentored and engaged over 150 children from over 10 communities who are taking frontline actions to bring back endangered amphibians in Cameroon from the brink of extinction. The organization has also used media arts tools, education and sensitization outreach campaigns to raise amphibians conservation consciousness amongst 10,000 amphibians adjacent community members in Cameroon. VoNat’s Endangered Amphibians Conservation Initiative targets the Mount Nlonako Area, the Mount Muanengouba Herpeto-Ornithological Sanctuary, Mount Mbam, Mount Cameroon, and Mount Oku areas in the Littoral, South West, West, and North West regions of Cameroon.
