My Name is Chah Gladness, a Botany and Plant Physiology student in the university of Buea, South West Region of Cameroon. I started my volunteering journey with Voice of Nature (VoNat) on February 21 as an Environmental Reporter and Education Officer.
With a strong passion and desire to conserve nature, I came ready to contribute to finding solutions to the speedy depletion of natural resources.
Throughout my volunteering stay in VoNat, I was able to educate about 50 community kids and young adults in the Mount Nlonako Area on amphibians conservation via conservation education lessons. This was done as part of commemorative activities to mark the 2023 World Frogs Day. Again, I carried out sensitization on nature conservation through VoNat’s Green Poetry Initiative. I wrote three poems including; “I love Nature”, “Wild But Not Homeless” and “Save Me”, which were published on VoNat’s online media handles.
Volunteering with VoNat equally enhanced my skills in article and report writing and research. In a whole, my first volunteering experience was professionally rewarding. As someone, who reveres what God placed in the hands of Man to take care of-NATURE, I think VoNat offered me the best!
