The South West Regional Delegate of the Ministry of Forestry and Wildlife (MINFOF), Mr. Christian Manga Bell Epie, has commended Voice of Nature (VoNat) for its contributions to the conservation of species in the region and other parts of the country. This was during a one day meeting that took place at Mount Cameroon National Park, with Chief of Service for Wildlife and Protected Areas, the Conservator of Mount Cameroon National Park, Conservator of the Mount Muanengouba Herpato-ornithological Sanctuary, VoNat staff also present, amongst others.
Speaking shortly after a presentation of the VoNat’s key achievements in species conservation, climate action and landscape restoration, the Regional Delegate expressed his satisfaction at how much the organization is doing to support Government’s species conservation and landscape restoration goals.
“It is clear that a lot of work has been done, and the government needs and appreciates such support from civil society actors like VoNat in achieving its objectives. You are no doubt creating a lot of impact in conserving our natural resources and key species. Align these incredible actions with the Government’s National Action Plan when reporting for proper accountability,” Mr. Christian Manga Bell said.


On his part, the Conservator of the Mount Muanengouba Herpetological Ornithological Sanctuary, Njomo saluted VoNat’s commitment to species conservation, highlighting a recent collaboration with the Organization in raising awareness about the sanctuary’s new status.
“A few months ago, we collaborated with VoNat in conducting sensitization activities in all the four conservation clusters of the Mount Muanengouba Herpato-Ornithological Sanctuary. This was necessary to let the population understand that the protected area is created for their benefit. We are looking forward to more activities with them,” the Conservator disclosed.
For the past six years, Voice of Nature (VoNat) has worked tirelessly to build a greener and safer planet for both humans and wildlife through its five key programmes: Species Conservation, Landscape Restoration, Climate Action, Environmental Journalism and Storytelling, and Volunteering & Youth Mentorship.
