Officials of the North West Regional Delegation of Environment, Protect of Nature and Sustainable Development (MINEPDED-NW) and the Bamenda Council have promised to accompany Voice of Nature (VoNat) in its strive to finding solutions to environmental challenges in Bamenda with community kids and youths. VoNat team at Bamenda City Council for Courtesy Visit

Aimed at seeking collaboration from Government regional sectorial ministries and administrative authorities in carrying out the Ecokids Programme and other environmental protection activities in the Region, the VoNat team used the courtesy visit to expose the organization’s environmental protection agenda and strategies for Bamenda.

At MINFOF-NW, the Regional Chief of Service for Administrative Affairs, who received the VoNat team on behalf of the Regional Delegate, pledged the Delegation’s support especially in the planting of trees in public spaces.

At MINEPDED-NW, the Regional Chief of Service for Conservation, Promotion and Monitoring, Mr. Etomes Marcel, lauded VoNat’s environmental protection plans for Bamenda. On this part, the Regional Delegate pledged his unflinching support to the Organization, and gave directives on the procedures for partnership with the Delegation.

At the level of the Bamenda City Council, the City Mayor, Mr. Achombang Tambeng Paul, was so impressed with VoNat’s environmental protection agenda for his city. The City Mayor said it was consistent with his Council’s strive to protect the environment, that has seen them plant over 3000 trees within the metropolis.

Part of VoNat’s environmental protection plan for the city and Bamenda Highlands as a whole, is already being realized via the ECOKIDS programme jointly implemented with Meg Wah. Meanwhile, a 5-year environmental protection plan for Bamenda is being developed.
