Voice of Nature (VoNat) recently participated in the maiden All Cameroon Civil Society on Environment (ALL_CSSE) South West (SW) Regional Chapter workshop. The Regional Coordinator of ALL_CSSE SW, Mr. Yamba Josue of Better Earth International (BETA) ), organized this maiden come-together on April 27, 2024, at Nkong Hilltop Association for Development (NADEV)’s Head Office in Buea on the theme: “Chatting a unified front for the protection of the environment in the South West Region of Cameroon”.

The workshop was organized under the patronage of the South West Region Delegation of the Ministry of Environment Protection of Nature and Sustainable Development (MINEPDED-SW). The main aim of this maiden meeting was to structure the regional platform for exchange and dialogue between civil society actors of environmental protection and environment protection stakeholders, and to improve coordination between stakeholders around the shared mission of the National Development Strategy 2020-2030 to strengthen climate change adaptation and mitigation measures and environment management in Cameroon.  

Speaking at the ALL_CSSE SW maiden come-together, The Regional Delegate of MINEPDED-SW, Mr. Set Ekwadi Songue, pledged the unflinching support of his Delegation to the Network. He also promised to engage more stakeholders for the Network.

Environmental organizations at the Workshop elaborated solutions to climate change, species conservation and other environmental challenges in the South West Region of Cameroon. They also developed an operational guide that will enhance environmental protection activities, and a communication plan to facilitate information sharing within ALL_CSSE SW.

ALL_CSSE SW Regional Coordinator, Mr. Yamba Josue, called on participants to remain committed to the Network and its activities, as they look forward  to the national conference that will take place in Yaoundé in October 2024. Better Earth international (BETA), Back2Eden, Natural Eco Capital, Forest Resources and People (FOREP) and NADEV are some environmental CSOs that also took part in the workshop.
