A network of kids and youths for endangered species conservation and environmental sustainability in the Mount Cameroon Area, Eco-Warriors, operation under the mentorship of Voice of Nature (VoNat) has established a regenerative vegetable garden in Government High School (GHS) Buea Rural, Bokova, South West Cameroon. According to the Vice President of Eco-Warriors, Kobbi Noel, the regenerative vegetable garden will serve as a demonstration site for the training of farmers in adjacent communities to the Mount Cameroon National Park on regenerative agriculture.

“We hope that this will contribute to increasing the agricultural production of the farmers and limit their encroachment into the biodiversity hotspot in search of arable lands,” Noel stated.

The establishment of the regenerative agriculture garden was also a great learning opportunity for the community children. “This is my first time of hearing about regenerative vegetable garden and I have really learnt a lot. I hope to use the lessons I have learnt here to set up my own little vegetable garden at home,” Blessing from Bonakanda said.

The regenerative vegetable garden establishment is one of Eco-warriors’ micro-project implemented within the framework of VoNat’s project which seeks to put community kids and youths in the Mount Cameroon Area on the frontline of endangered species conservation and environmental sustainability. This project is  implemented with funds from New England Biolabs Foundation.
