Background
Voice of Nature (VoNat) is a Cameroon community-based biodiversity conservation and sustainable development non-profit organization dedicated to building a greener, safer and more sustainable planet for both wildlife and humanity to thrive. VoNat was created in 2019 by a group of youths with a strong desire to use their skills, knowledge and experience to finding solutions to biodiversity conservation and sustainable development challenges, while engaging other kids, young adults and their communities to do same. The idea was that through this, a sustainable and healthy planet will be created that all will enjoy and also hand to the next generation. On September 30, 2020, VoNat was authorised by the Cameroon Ministry of Territorial Administration following registration No.1125/G.37/C84/VOL.I/SASC to operate as an apolitical, non-denominational and non-profit organization.
Purpose of the Volunteering Positions
We are currently seeking talented and enthusiastic individuals who are willing to contribute to finding solutions to the increasing global environmental challenges to join our Biodiversity Conservation and Landscape Restoration Programmes as volunteers.
Required Qualifications
- A Bachelor or Masters Degree in forestry and wildlife, natural resource management, environmental science, and any related specialization or currently embarking on studies at final year in any of these domains with enough time to spare.
Required Competences
Ability to speak and write good English (fluency in French as well will be an advantage)
- Passion and interest in the mission and objectives of VoNat

- Willingness to intermittently work and stay in remote areas (forest and forest communities)
- Good team spirit and communication skills
- Ability to work and interact with people of different backgrounds
- Willingness to adhere to VoNat’s core values
Responsibilities
- Carry out conservation education in schools & communities
- Develop best practices aimed at curbing poaching & wildlife depletion
- Assist in organizing and managing conservation and climate change awareness and outreach events
- Produce plans, presentations and reports on biodiversity conservation and climate response activities
- Develop ideas and support fundraising efforts
- Assist in reforestation activities etc.
