โThe future of our planet, Earth, cannot be decided tomorrow. It is shaped by what we do today. Protect nature now, restore what is degraded, and defend what remains. Every voice matters. Every action counts,โ Ndimuh Bertrand Shancho, Executive Director of Voice of Nature (VoNat), said as the organization joined global voices in raising awareness on the urgent need to protect and restore the environment in commemoration of the 2026 World Earth Day, observed under the theme: Our Power, Our People.
As climate change, biodiversity loss, deforestation, and environmental degradation continue to threaten communities and ecosystems around the world, the need for urgent and collective action has never been greater. The decisions we make today, as individuals, communities, organizations, and governments, will determine the future of our planet and the wellbeing of generations to come.

Through online awareness campaigns and public engagement activities, VoNat highlighted the importance of immediate action to address the growing environmental challenges facing communities and ecosystems worldwide. The organization used the occasion to call for stronger environmental stewardship, ecosystem restoration, and collective responsibility in protecting nature for present and future generations.
Speaking during the online awareness campaign, VoNatโs Executive Director, Ndimuh Bertrand Shancho, emphasized that the future of the planet depends on actions taken today, not tomorrow.
At VoNat, conserving species and restoring nature is seen not only as an environmental responsibility, but also as a pathway to securing healthier communities, resilient ecosystems, and sustainable livelihoods. Through ecosystem restoration, biodiversity conservation, climate action, and community engagement initiatives, VoNat continues to work alongside local communities and partners to build a greener and more sustainable future across Cameroon.
The message shared during World Earth Day 2026 serves as a reminder that meaningful environmental change begins with collective action. Every tree planted, every ecosystem restored, every voice raised, and every sustainable choice made today contributes to shaping a safer and more sustainable planet for future generations.
