Voice of Nature (VoNat) has contributed to the development of the 2025 action plan for the Cameroon Climate Justice Movement (CJM). The organization, represented by its Executive Director, Ndimuh Bertrand Shancho, joined over 40 environmental civil society organizations from across Cameroon in developing a one year action plan during a two-day workshop in Yaounde-Cameroon from March 17 to 18, 2025.

The environmental advocates elaborated concrete strategies and activities that will address the urgent challenges and injustices related to climate change in Cameroon. “The action plan developed will help us as a movement to be more active and effective in contributing solutions to the many climate crises and environmental injustices in Cameroon. It will also ensure accountability, and serve as a yardstick to measure our impact at the end of the year,” Ndimuh B. Shancho said.

A working group was put in place during this strategic workshop for the drafting of the application text for the action plan. This document will serve as a roadmap for the effective implementation of the agreed-upon strategies, ensuring a coordinated and impactful response to climate issues in Cameroon. Meanwhile, plans are underway to advocate for the establishment of the Congo Basin Regional Day.
