Akeabeh Sandrine  has emerged as winner of Voice of Nature  (VoNat)’s most committed volunteer of the year 2021. The award was handed over to her during the VoNat’s Start-of-Year Meeting & Workshop that took place at the Organization’s Head   Office in Buea, January 22, 2022. The young graduate, who joined the VoNat’s Volunteering and Youth Mentorship Programme as Communications Officer on May 24, 2021, got the highest number of votes out of seven other volunteers.

 Sandrine was filled with joy and excitement for this recognition. “I am so overwhelmed by this recognition. It shows that the efforts I put in did not go in vain. This award will boost my CV and help me get scholarships and more opportunities nationally and internationally,” she said shortly after receiving the award.

Ms. Akeabeh Sandrine thanked the Executive Director of VoNat for providing her with a platform to sharpen her skills and to gain professional experience. “I have gathered a lot of professional experience from you, which will benefit me wherever I find myself. You haven’t been just a boss but a mentor,” she said. The award winner also thanked all the volunteers at VoNat for believing and supporting her as they worked together.

The VoNat Volunteering & Youth Mentorship Programme is dedicated to grooming young university graduates from Cameroon and beyond into refined professionals and providing them with the experience and skills much-needed in the job market. This Programme also serves as a platform for devoted and passionate individuals across the globe to use their skills, knowledge, experience and resources to contribute to building a healthy and safer planet for current and future generations, as well as put smiles on the faces of vulnerable children and women in forest communities in Cameroon.
